WiMAX World Chicago Preview

During the last week of September, more than 10,000 are expected to gather in Chicago, USA for the 5th annual WiMAX World conference. This year’s event will combine a day of workshops and seminars followed by two days of industry keynote and break-out session tracks. In parallel, the exhibition floor provides access to 150 vendors and a solutions theater.

The big news everyone is holding their breath for - will Sprint Nextel meet its September deadline to launch the XOHM service in Baltimore, Maryland or will another delay give consumers reason to wait for mobile broadband from other providers? The rumor mill is abuzz on the topic. WiMax.com sources say to expect an announcement in Chicago that XOHM is accepting customer orders. The first half of October will likely be filled with pomp and circumstance activities, including retail kiosk openings and formal launch events.
